Analog Consoles
Analog Consoles
The launch of Console Builder coincides with a cosmetic refresh of the desk itself. New customers of the ASP8024-HE will still enjoy all the same features, but now with an aesthetic redesign. “We’ve made it easier to navigate the console, with a view to providing a better user experience,” says Audient’s Andrew Allen, highlighting the new colourway, all-new cool-white metering and easy to read labelling. And a stylish, UK handmade walnut armrest completes the new look.

Intro
With the ASP8024 in production for nearly 20 years, and thousands of consoles in use
around the world based on his legendary circuit blocks, we’ve returned to designer David
Dearden’s roots to release the definitive version of the ASP8024 – the Heritage Edition.
20 years ago David set out to design an analogue recording console not knowing it was
destined to become a modern classic. To commemorate Audient and his phenomenal
achievement we have reimagined his classic design with all new enhancements and
features.
– Audient Console Mic Preamps
– Modular Design
– Renowned Reliability
– Impactful Aesthetic
– Vintage Mix Bus Processing
– Inline Architecture
Modular Design
Customised to your individual requirements.
We understand that buying a console can be a lifetime investment, so every feature needs
to be exactly right for you and your studio. That’s why we made the ASP8024 one of the
only modular consoles on the market – to best fit your requirements.
Interactive Console Builder
How will you build yours?
Configure your ideal console with our online console builder. Need a patchbay or DAW
control or somewhere to simply put your screen? No problem! We have additional modules
such as the Patchbay, Dual Layer Control and Producers Desk that can be added to fit your
requested configuration and requirements.
25 years in the making
The microphone preamplifier has historically been the most difficult circuit block to design
and also the block where designers have striven to express their individuality and David
Dearden has always been on a quest for musical transparency.
“An understanding of the circuit operation and current paths is required for best results and
I’ve spent over 20 years striving for continuous improvement in our circuit design and how
our products sound. To this day my mic pre design is still being used all over the world – I
must’ve done something right! Think like an electron!”
The Audient mic preamp
The professional sound you deserve
Due to its clean and transparent sound the Audient mic preamp is often regarded as one of
the most versatile mic preamps available, making it the go-to mic pre for thousands of
professionals, top studios and home recordists alike.
The Mix Bus Compressor
Make light work of your mixes
Based on technology from the 80s and 90s the ASP8024’s mix bus compressor
is known for adding a rock and roll dynamic to your mix. Often likened to classic analogue
boards, the ASP8024’s mix bus compressor provides that classic VCA ‘glue’ that will give
your mix that ‘sounds like a record’ feeling. With improved circuitry and a slick new gain
reduction VU meter for improved visual feedback (if you’ve used the ‘gentle needle bounce
glue trick’ before, you’ll know exactly what we mean) it will fast become one of the most
useful tools in your arsenal!
Due to its clean and transparent sound the Audient mic preamp is often regarded as one of
the most versatile mic preamps available, making it the go to mic pre for thousands of
professionals, top studios and home recordists alike.
Variable Mix Bus
A mix bus with character
By utilising an american style output amplifier, classic through hole components and a
British output transformer we bring you RETRO IRON, a variable output mix bus with LOW
BUMP and HIGH LIFT EQ.
Based upon two consoles from David’s first job in 1967 at the now legendary Advision
Studios in London, RETRO IRON adds punch and ‘vibe’ to the consoles mix output. So
whether your simply tracking, summing a few inputs or crafting a fully blown console mix
RETRO IRON offers you that unique analogue console sound with a little bit of extra
character that will put the final touch on any mix.
The Heritage Card
Classic analogue sound
Retro Iron is engaged with the switches in the master fader section, and when inserted into
the mix bus signal path, provides a massive headroom of +28dBu into 600Ω at the mix
insert send output, perfect for driving a vintage mix bus EQ or Fairchild! You should try
engaging the Retro Iron features half-way through a mix to give you a little lift!
There are 4 modes of “tone shaping” operation, controlled by the 3 switches on the right
hand side of the master fader panel.
Splittable Four Band EQ
Flexible, powerful, musical
The incredibly flexible, Dearden designed EQ offers two fully parametric bands that span
from 40Hz to 20kHz, offering a powerful and punchy sound. These are flanked by low and
high shelving EQ bands (with a minimal signal path) that are perfect for adding weight and
air to your source and when combined with the parametric EQ, make for the ultimate
sculpting tool.
Don’t forget, you can really take advantage of the EQ as it can be split across both the short
and long faders, making us one of the only companies to offer this unique feature.
Splittable EQ – The EQ can also be split across both the short and long faders, meaning
you can EQ both your mic inputs and DAW returns at the same time, making it incredibly
easy to start building your mix from the moment you start recording.
Workflow
Flexible Routing
The ASP8024-HE makes signal flow a breeze with flexible routing, one knob per function,
no menus or hidden features and no need to worry about latency – making working on the
console fast, intuitive and most importantly, fun!
Refine your workflow
The consoles inline architecture allows you to start building your mix as you’re tracking. By
using the long and short faders you can create separate record and monitor balances on
one channel strip, all while being able access the consoles splitable EQ and aux sends,
perfect for getting it right from the start.
Complete Connectivity
The heart of your studio
With an impressive array of connectivity options the ASP8024-HE will quickly become the
hub of your studio. Whether you’re bringing in your DAW outputs, effects returns,
monitoring devices and other line sources, or simply connecting to your 2′′ tape machine,
the Heritage Edition provides ultimate flexibility for the modern recording studio.
I/O
Endless options to suit you
Depending on the console configuration you choose, the rear connectivity layout may vary
due to which modules you select and channel count.
For example, on a standard console each channel will have a mic input, a line input, tape
input and two sends/returns connections, whereas on console with the patchbay module
some of these connections will be moved to the patchbay leaving just the mic and line
inputs on the channel. Head to our downloads page to view visualisations of various
configurations.
Monitor Control
The comprehensive monitoring solution
Our fully featured monitor control section offers full artist communication, new remote
talkback control, a new additional engineer headphone output, powerful source selection
and loud speaker control with a short passive signal path for incredibly clear and accurate
monitoring.
Built to last
Engineered to survive everyday use, our consoles have become renowned for reliability and
have been designed to withstand the demands of daily use.
