From Passion to Production: How a Sound Engineer Built His Dream Studio with the Audient ASP8024 Console
After four decades in the music and audio industry, Melbourne-based Sound Engineer Greg von Menge has finally realised his lifelong dream: building his very own purpose-built recording studio – centred around the iconic Audient ASP8024-HE-24 Channel Analogue Console.

What started with humble home studio setups and a compact Audient Zen console, has now evolved into a state-of-the-art studio filled with over 24 vintage synths, a full suite of analogue gear, Focal monitors, Dangerous mastering chains, and most importantly — an upgraded, refurbished Audient ASP8024 Classic console at the centre of it all.
Greg purchased his ASP8024 through Awave — a long-standing Audient retail outlet based in Melbourne, owned and founded by respected industry professional Lewis Chiodo. The console had previously lived at the Victorian College of the Arts and was in need of a little TLC. Greg saw its potential and lovingly restored it to its former glory — both aesthetically and functionally.
