Similar to its 1U standalone counterpart, the Maag Audio EQ4M Stereo Mastering Equalizer, the EQ4-500 showcases a meticulously crafted array of six EQ band sections. These are comprised of four fixed-frequency bell-shaped peaking equalizer sections, a 2.5 kHz shelving equalizer section, and the distinctive Air Band shelf equalizer. The Air Band shelf equalizer offers a selection of frequencies, including options of off, 2.5, 5, 10, 15, 20, and 40 kHz. The core frequency bands in the primary section encompass Sub or 10 Hz, 40 Hz, 160 Hz, 650 Hz, and the 2.5 kHz shelf EQ. With a capacity for up to +20 dB boost, the Air Gain feature is dedicated to the Air Band shelving equalizer.

Boost/Cut Range and Monitoring

Operating with precision, the five EQs present in the primary section facilitate a remarkable boost/cut range, spanning from +15 dB to -4.5 dB, offering a centered detent at 0 dB. The EQ4-500 also offers valuable monitoring features including a Green Signal Present LED that activates at -20 dBu and a Red Peak LED that alerts to peaks of +23 dBu.
